Britain's shortest-serving prime minister, began the first edition of her YouTube show with a vow to unmask "the evil-doers" working to undermine Britain, the US and Europe. She stated she would reveal how an "international network of leftists operate to subvert popular rule and the electorate's mandate."

"We will examine the political movement of Donald Trump and see how this can be replicated in Britain," Truss declared. "We'll be talking to the prominent voices of the Maga movement."

Prior to the show's launch, there was one particularly enthusiastic supporter. "This is the beginning of a type of transformation," stated veteran reporter John Solomon. His conservative Just the News platform will carry the former prime minister's new broadcasts.

Forging Alliances in the Maga-Verse

Compatriot supporters, such as a counselor supportive of Reform, played a role in her launch the Truss's program. The setup is competent, though simple. The show has attracted 10,000 subscribers in her initial seven days and her premiere garnered sixty-seven thousand views across the same period.

This represents a small opening, but in partnering with John Solomon, she is being entering a well-developed right-wing media network producing and amplifying Make America Great Again themes. Its obsessions include claims of media suppression by the traditional news outlets and a desire to remove a conspiratorial 'deep state' – which Truss blames for the swift end of her short and troubled leadership.

"Just the News is not widely recognized beyond the pro-Trump media sphere, but it does have credibility there, largely because of its founder, who offers opinions on pro-Trump shows like Steve Bannon's War Room and has even interviewed the former president," noted Alex Hinton, who has closely studied the Trumpist political wave.

A Controversial Partner

The former PM's foray to import Maga media to Britain has aligned her more closely to contentious individuals such as the journalist.

He established Just the News following backlash after he was accused of pushing misleading narratives about the President's actions in Ukraine, as well as contentious articles about the former US ambassador to Ukraine.

Solomon's reporting were repeated within the pro-Trump outlets, with Solomon appearing as a regular guest on Sean Hannity's influential cable news broadcast. Trump himself boosted his stories.

Solomon made the reports about Ukraine in a series of columns for the publication The Hill, where he was re-labelled as a columnist when staffers raised concerns over his articles. These reports were pivotal in Trump's demand for the Ukrainians to investigate Hunter Biden and his father in 2019. This pressure culminated in impeachment proceedings against Trump. The US Senate later acquitted the commander-in-chief.

Shortly after he exited the Hill in autumn 2019, the outlet stated it was conducting a review of his reporting relating to Ukraine. It determined Solomon had relied on unreliable sources and noted he "did not disclose crucial information about key Ukrainian sources, such as the reality that they had been charged or were being probed."

Becoming Part of the Sphere

The journalist's personal broadcast spots are a indication of the right-wing media network the former prime minister is becoming part of. Solomon mentioned his endorsement of Truss's project on a program he presents on the conservative cable network, a political media platform that is the base for the conservative firebrand ex-Trump strategist Bannon and on which Tucker Carlson also is seen. The ex-PM has already hosted Bannon on an early episode.

By partnering with this media figure, she has become a niche participant in a much wider network of conservative media outlets that routinely share and promote one another's material.

The journalist's podcast and Real America's Voice show have frequently included figures such as influencer Mike Benz, a political voice whose criticism of the foreign aid agency was cited by the tech billionaire as justification for closing the foreign aid agency.

A Cross-Border Foray

Although Truss's stilted style and political travails have drawn derision within the UK, certain American analysts are not discounting her bid to rebrand as a British branch of the Make America Great Again press.

"You have to take individuals such as her seriously, although you may not want to accept their words at face value," commented Rob Flaherty, who worked in the Biden White House.

"It was evident how in 2024 the former president used that media network to get his message out. Undoubtedly that sphere spreads and shapes debate abroad. It seems relatively clear to me that the conditions in the United Kingdom are comparable to what allowed this alternative media ecosystem to prosper in the US."

Alan Finlayson, said the internet-based conservative network was already making its presence felt in Britain.

"Online platforms is borderless," he stated. "There exists a sort of milieu within which ideas travel – at times taking an extreme form and other times more moderately – but which is connected."

Professor Hinton said the growth of the online right in the UK lately meant the "possibility to have a growing impact is substantial."
