The Fifth Toy Story Film Teaser Sets The Beloved Duo Against a Tablet Computer
It has been 30 anniversary since the original Toy Story film debuted, establishing Pixar as a major film company and bringing viewers to beloved figures like Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
In 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 landed recently, offering a brief look into the plot but keeping viewers curious how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Digital Device Spooks the Toys
In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who inherited Andy's toys when he grew up — getting a latest toy, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys seem to view it as a danger coming to replace them, which it probably is.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
An element the trailer doesn't touch on is why Woody is returned with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (the actress), traveling with a fair and helping giveaway items find good homes.
Certainly, the filmmakers will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him appear in the familiar setting without warning is somewhat puzzling, however. It also makes us wonder whether Bo Peep will have come back with him. And where is Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves)?
Continuity from the Previous Film
At the very least, some elements are continuing from the prior film. The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was hand over his symbol of authority to Jessie (the voice actor), leaving her as the leader of the toy domain. In the teaser shows the badge attached to her shirt.
It is hoped she is still the driving force among the toys.
Toy Story 5 debuts on June 19, 2026.
